Krishnachura is a trans feminist organization, gender minorities-led think tank, cultural platform, archive, and movement space based in Bangladesh.
We work exclusively with and for non-cis individuals, including transgender, hijra, intersex, non-binary, queer and gender-diverse people.
Krishnachura is not an organization for cisgender men or women, nor for gay, lesbian, or bisexual communities whose struggle is based only on sexuality. Our work centers those whose gender itself is politicized, criminalized, medicalized, erased, and violated.
Krishnachura is also a trans feminist space where non-cis people build knowledge, care, safety, culture, and resistance together.
We believe trans existence is not only an identity.
It is a revolution.
Who We Are
Krishnachura was first imagined in 2017, born from conversations, silences, fear, care, and resistance.
It emerged from lived realities where gender minorities in Bangladesh were forced to negotiate survival every day.
After years of disruption, violence, and forced quietness, Krishnachura has been reclaimed and rebuilt as a response to the present moment-where gender minorities are again primary targets of moral policing, political instability, social backlash, and institutional neglect.
Today, Krishnachura stands as Bangladesh’s first gender minorities-led think tank, grounded in anthropology, public health, lived experience, cultural memory, and community resistance.

Krishnachura Fashion
Krishnachura Fashion is our social enterprise initiative, created to build dignified livelihood pathways for gender minorities excluded from formal employment.
Economic dignity is not optional.
It is protection, autonomy, and survival.
Art & Archives
Krishnachura maintains a growing digital and physical archive of photography, art installations, textiles, craft-based works, movement documentation, and community memory.
This archive functions as a counter-archive-preserving histories that society and institutions often refuse to record.
The Marie Masdupuy Protection Fund is dedicated to the former French Ambassador to Bangladesh, Marie Masdupuy, whose solidarity offered protection, dignity, and courage to human rights defenders and the trans community during difficult times.
This fund supports gender minorities facing crisis, threats, displacement, violence, and emergency vulnerability.
